About VDH Automation & Electrical

VDH Automation & Electrical was founded by Justin van der Horst, bringing over 15 years of trade and automation experience to control systems, panel building and machine automation across Christchurch and Canterbury.

What started as an electrical contracting business has grown into a specialist automation and control systems operation. Today the focus is on the work that brings machines and plant to life — EPLAN schematic design, control panel builds, PLC and HMI programming, and full machine automation — backed by the licensed electrical capability to install, commission and certify it all.

The approach is simple: design and build under one roof, so the drawings match the hardware and there’s one team accountable for the result. No design handed to one party and the build to another. No gaps between the schematic and the panel. Just tidy, well-documented work that does what it’s meant to and keeps doing it.

VDH is a registered electrical business, growing steadily and building toward a workshop-based operation.
